Background

Founded in 2003, as a division of Luxoft, MeshNetics (formerly Luxoft Labs) has been developing standards-based products & solutions for wireless sensing applications. MeshNetics was spun off of Luxoft and became an independent privately-owned company in November 2005. MeshNetics offers a range of high-performance RF modules, networking software and development tools. MeshNetics is widely recognized as a leader in wireless sensor networking field, and was a recipient of the “Excellence in Technology Award” from Frost & Sullivan in 2006. Most recently, MeshNetics was named to the 2008 Top 100 list of M2M companies, compiled by M2M Magazine.

ZigBit IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee 2.4GHz RF Modules
ZigBit is a family of low-power, high-sensitivity 802.15.4 / ZigBee modules. Occupying less than a half square inch of space, the ZigBit module combines a superior radio performance with an exceptional ease of integration. Key features include the outdoor range of over 1,000m, two antenna options and an industrial temperature range. Each module comes with ZigBee networking software and a set of AT commands. The ZigBit modules are precision manufactured in Germany and carry ZigBee, FCC, CE (ETSI) and IC certifications.

ZigBit Amp IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee 2.4GHz RF Modules
ZigBit Amp modules combine the industry-leading range of up to 4 kilometers (2 ½ miles) with the low power consumption. This is due to the unique RF design, aided by the use of the high-sensitivity Atmel AVR radio and a 100mW amplifier. Occupying less than a square inch of space, the ZigBit Amp is exceptionally easy-to-integrate. Each module is bundled with the ZigBee networking software and a set of AT commands. ZigBit Amp won both “Readers Choice 2008” and “Editors Choice 2008” Awards from eg3.com, the largest online portal for embedded developers.

ZigBit 900 IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee 868/915 MHz RF Modules
ZigBit 900 is the world’s first RF module for sub-1 GHz band that uses the ZigBee PRO Feature Set. The new IEEE 802.15.4-2006 module is designed to operate in the ISM bands 915 MHz in the US and 868 MHz in Europe. The ultra-compact ZigBit 900 module features an exceptional sensitivity of -110 dBm and output power of 11 dBm that result in the line-of-sight range of up to 6,000m (over 3.7 miles). The power consumption stays at a remarkably low level: less than 6 µA in sleep mode, which translates into many years of battery life. The ZigBit 900 offers regional alternatives to the global 2.4 GHz band where the channel characteristics of the lower frequencies can result in certain performance advantages, such as better wall penetration capability.

ZigBee Development Tools
MeshNetics offers the developers easy-to-use tools to evaluate the ZigBit modules and develop the module-based wireless sensing solutions. The list of available hardware tools includes the versatile development boards with sensors and the USB dongles. The network management software helps commission, test and visualize the wireless sensor network. The Development Kits include hardware, software and accessories, needed to prototype, develop and deploy a ZigBee-based wireless application.
