Background
Founded in 2003, as a division of Luxoft, MeshNetics (formerly Luxoft Labs) has been developing standards-based products & solutions for wireless sensing applications. MeshNetics was spun off of Luxoft and became an independent privately-owned company in November 2005. MeshNetics offered a range of high-performance RF modules, networking software and development tools. MeshNetics is widely recognized as a leader in wireless sensor networking field, and was a recipient of the “Excellence in Technology Award” from Frost & Sullivan in 2006. Most recently, MeshNetics was named to the 2008 Top 100 list of M2M companies, compiled by M2M Magazine.

MeshNetics is pleased to announce that it has reached an important agreement with Atmel Corporation for MeshNetics BitCloud stack and ZigBit modules to become Atmel products.
Atmel Corporation is a global leader in the design and manufacture of microcontrollers, and complementary products such as capacitive touch sensing ICs, ASICs, nonvolatile memory and radio frequency components.
MeshNetics and Atmel have taken all possible steps to ensure that change in product ownership is essentially transparent for our customers:
The BitCloud ZigBee PRO stack is available for free download from the Atmel web pages: www.atmel.com/BitCloud.
Current ZigBit, ZigBit Amp, ZigBit 900 Modules and Development Kits are available from existing MeshNetics distributors.
Atmel plans to make ZigBit modules and developments kits available through Atmel distribution channels during Q1/Q2 2009.
Technical support requests related to BitCloud software and ZigBit modules will be processed by Atmel support teams at avr@atmel.com.
Atmel product engineering teams will continue driving award-winning ZigBit and BitCloud products further under the Atmel brand.
