Luxoft Labs has presented at RFID Europe conference in London

Luxoft Labs recently participated in the RFID conference discussing new trends in RFID technology. They outlined practical applications of RFID which took it beyond identification into Anti-Theft, Real Time Location Systems, Biometrics and Wireless Sensor Networks. A battle between energy-greedy WiFi, short-distance “under-regulated” RFID and expensive GPS systems and their benefits were covered along the lines of case studies with BMW, European Theme Parks and UK Police. But more importantly the presentation gave an overview of wireless sensor networks leverage of the installed RFID infrastructure for smart container, airplane maintenance and transportation solutions. Luxoft Labs is the first amongst wireless sensor technology companies to integrate RFID, GPRS and WiFi interface into its MeshNetics™ family of products. The conference was an excellent opportunity for the company to communicate its vision about convergence of wireless standards and enabling technology that will solve gridlock of cautionary behavior of the client base looking for a winner in a war for the standards adoption.
