Industry Veteran Pete Secor to Lead MeshNetics North American Operations
28.06.2007

Pete Secor - VP, North American Operations, MeshNeticsPhoenix , Arizona – June 28, 2007 – MeshNetics, a leading provider of ZigBee modules and embedded software for OEMs and system integrators, today announced that it has appointed Pete Secor to run its fast-growing North American business. Secor brings to MeshNetics over 30 years of experience in sales, engineering, business development and key account management. Secor’s is a timely and welcome addition to MeshNetics; the company is at a turning point as its ZigBee products find increasing adoption in building automation, assets monitoring, preventive maintenance, patients monitoring and a host of other areas. Secor will operate out of Phoenix , Arizona , where MeshNetics has relocated its North American operations center from Bellevue , Washington . Phoenix , a vibrant city with a flourishing electronics sector and an excellent transportation system, is the ideal headquarters to develop new markets and better support MeshNetics’ expanding North American customer base.

We are pleased to welcome Pete Secor to the MeshNetics team,” said Mr. Vasiliy Suvorov, CEO of MeshNetics. “Our people are the foundation of MeshNetics’ success, and we always select our key personnel with great care. At the helm of MeshNetics’ North American operations, Pete Secor will leverage his extensive experience in market development to build new sales channels and acquire new accounts, as the wireless sensor networks market enters an exciting era of exponential growth.”

Secor started his career at Fairchild Semiconductor, where he introduced a number of new products and increased sales through his involvement in both product engineering and marketing. During his 10+ year tenure with Advanced Micro Devices, Secor contributed to the explosive growth of MOS microprocessor sales from $5 million to $500 million per year. He rose through the ranks from Product Engineer to Engineering Manager to Managing Director of MOS Microprocessors, with responsibility for profit and loss, engineering, marketing, production planning, and test manufacturing of AMD’s most consistently profitable product line. Secor next served as President and CEO of MetaLink Corporation the world leader in the design of in-circuit emulators for 8051 and COP8 embedded controllers. Secor’s most recent position was COO of Shortridge Instruments, the world leader in portable electronic airflow meters for air balancing and clean room applications, where he is credited with introducing new products and increasing profitability.

Secor expects rapid growth in Meshnetics’ market. “I was lucky enough to participate in the microprocessor revolution,” he said. “Processors for personal computers and embedded controllers for every machine from microwave ovens to automobiles to cell phones - those products changed the life of every human being.   Now it’s time to wirelessly and inexpensively connect the billions of electronic machines serving mankind to achieve better comfort, security, and energy efficiency.   With ZigBee, you can position the thermostat and the light switch based on the way you live and work, and not worry about the electrician pulling wires.”

In the North American market, MeshNetics offers a full line of its ZigBit™ 802.15.4/ZigBee modules. These ZigBee modules, the smallest of their kind in the industry, are based on the Atmel AVR Z-Link hardware platform and offer a superior unamplified line-of-site range of over 1,000m (3,280 ft.) The ZigBee 2006 certified mesh networking stack software and sample applications, included in the Development Kit, provide all the tools needed to develop reliable, cost-effective ZigBee solutions. MeshNetics also offers certified IEEE802.15.4 MAC software, the OpenMAC, which can be downloaded for free at www.meshnetics.com/opensource/mac.
